Emmanuela’s jewels are original handmade creations of the silversmith Emmanuela Alevizopoulou. Emmanuela was born in Athens in 1984 and discovered her artistic nature at an early age, focusing on painting and various hand constructions. As a teenager she realized she could combine her creative skills with her love for beauty and elegance through the process of making jewelry, by bringing items of usability, durability and real value into existence. So she decided to study the art of jewelry. At the same time she started working as an assistant in one of the most important handmade silver jewelry workshops, where she gained considerable experience and learned the secrets and techniques of silversmithing next to a successful craftsman. Today, after 4 years of study at the silversmith school and 12 years of experience as an assistant and craftswoman, she aspires to create her own success story. Emmanuela jewels are all handmade; earrings, bracelets, brooches and pins, rings, necklaces, pendants, wedding crowns, decoratives for the decanter, the glass and the bonbonnieres of the wedding ceremony. The metals used as the basis are mainly silver, bronze and copper. They are decorated with semi precious stones, pearls, corals, leather, feathers, enamel and other natural materials. Whenever the designs and the construction conditions allow it, the silver parts are plated with rhodium or 24K gold so they don't tarnish and they are more resistant to shocks and distortions. Even the dark parts are plated with black rhodium. This way, the need for constant maintenance and polishing is eliminated. The retail shop “Emmanuela – art in silver” is located at Gymnasiou 15 Street, Nea Chalkidona, Thessaloniki, Greece along with the workshop. There you can see all the items exhibited in emmanuela.gr and learn about their construction, the techniques and the materials used, from the creator herself. You can also make custom orders and with Emmanuela’s help even draw your own design!
